About Our Speaker

Dr. Victor Rao is a radiologist by training and worked as a primary care physician before pursing radiology. He is one of the pioneers to introduce Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) to medical students and PA students at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He developed the POCUS curriculum and POCUS educational content for MD and PA students at the USC School of Medicine. He also helped develop the eLearning YouTube content for USC School of Medicine as well as developed the teaching content for Introduction to Point of Care ultrasound CME program at USC School of Medicine.

His passion is ultrasound and POCUS. He also helped introduce POCUS at Arusha Lutheran Medical Center in Tanzania, the University of Santo Thomas in Manila, Philippines and in Haiti. He has authored and co-authored several ultrasound and High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) articles published in peer reviewed journals. He has also written several chapters in Point of Care ultrasound textbooks, POCUS blog articles and POCUS clinical cases. His goal is to teach POCUS and make it easy for every clinician to learn and practice POCUS safely and effectively. He has trained thousands of students and clinicians in hands-on Point of Care ultrasound.
